He emphasized that Halal certification is not just a label on products, but a sign of respect for religious values and Muslim consumers. It also opens strong opportunities for businesses to expand markets and develop sustainably.

How did SOLSE Smoked Cheese meet Halal standards?
Ms. Tran Thanh Huyen – Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Nguyen Hong Group said: “This was the first time a Halal standards training program had been organized in such a structured and professional manner in Hanoi and across Northern Vietnam.”
Speaking about market potential, Ms. Huyen stated that the global Muslim population currently exceeds 2 billion people and is expected to reach 2.8 billion by 2030, accounting for nearly 30% of the world’s population. To achieve Halal certification, businesses must not only clearly verify ingredients and production processes, but also strictly comply with Halal regulations from manufacturing to delivery to consumers. This is a major challenge for Vietnamese enterprises.
In conclusion, Mr. Abbas affirmed that the Halal certification process is a key factor in ensuring that all products and services fully comply with Halal standards.
What is Halal certification?
Halal (ḥalāl) originates from Arabic and means “lawful” or “permitted.” It is assessed based on full compliance with the principles, values, and religious laws of Islam, as defined by the Qur’an.
The opposite of Halal is Haram, which means forbidden. Some items that cannot be clearly classified as Halal or Haram are considered Mashbooh, meaning doubtful.
Halal certification serves as official proof that businesses and food production facilities comply with Islamic laws. This certification confirms that products delivered to consumers meet Halal food standards.
